ABOUT ABOUT

Anthony Deutsch is a Milwaukee-based pianist, vocalist and composer. For nearly two decades, his musical journey has been largely informed by an unwavering thirst for truth and self-expression. Embodying both the light and darkness of the human experience, Deutsch aims to invoke a timeless presence. Improvisation is at the heart of his artistry. “Improvisation is the act of being present. One must listen beyond their own narrative, embody that at hand, and produce a fruitful compositional offering. It is difficult and fleeting, but may yield deep beauty.”

Kenny Reichert began his study of classical piano at age 5 and guitar at age 12. He began his jazz studies with local guitar veteran Roger Brotherhood and joined the Milwaukee Youth Symphony Orchestra Jazz Studies program, studying under Barry Oosterwaal, Ethan Bender, and Neil Davis. Kenny also attended the Wisconsin Conservatory of Music under the direction of Eric Jacobson. During his high school years, Kenny won various soloist awards, including “Best Class A Soloist” at the Eau Claire Jazz Festival.

Kenny attended Berklee College of Music, studying with Sheryl Bailey, Larry Baione, Jeff Galindo, John Funkhouser, and John Baboian. He returned to Milwaukee and finished his studies in Economics at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. Based in Chicago, Kenny is an active performer and bandleader, performing alongside many great artists in the Midwest jazz scene including Russ Johnson, Johannes Wallmann, Tony Barba, Devin Drobka, Tony Barba, Anthony Deutsch, Fred Boswell Jr. and Kevin Hayden. He has been featured on recordings like Johannes Wallmann’s Love Wins (Fresh Sounds Records, 2017), Ian Ewings’ Overnight (Ian Ewing, 2017) and Fred Boswell Jr. 's True Improv, Vol. 1 (Amazin Muzic Inc., 2016). He self-released his debut record Interpretations in 2015.
